Esther Widowski

Litigation and Trial Background

Ms. Widowski focuses her practice on professional malpractice defense She has extensive experience representing hospitals, physicians, psychologists, laboratories, nurses, dentists and oral surgeons in New York State and federal courts, and in Multi-District Litigation (including Vioxx, Medtronic and Silicone Breast Implant litigation). She has tried numerous cases to verdict, including several defense verdicts in New York Supreme Court, Bronx and New York Counties. In 2004, she was recognized in the New York Law Journal’s “Noteworthy Defense Verdicts.” (See NYLJ March 15, 2004). She has successfully defended alleged violations of the federal Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”). She also has experience in alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration. She has represented the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, in its corporate and receivership capacities, in commercial, banking, and directors’ and officers’ liability matters, since 1995. She frequently lectures on professional malpractice and risk management issues.
